The goddess of power created the land.
The Triforce grants a wish to those who possess the three virtues of the goddesses: power, wisdom, and courage. If one doesn’t have the proper balance of virtues, the Triforce will split into three pieces. Only by reuniting all three pieces can the true power of the Triforce be obtained.

Subseries warning : This article or section contains information on a subseries within the Legend of Zelda series and should be considered part of its own separate canon.
The world is created by the Golden Goddesses, along with the Triforce. The events of Skyward Sword occur. Afterward, during an “era of chaos” the Sacred Realm is sealed. The kingdom of Hyrule is then established during the “era of prosperity”, ruled by the Royal Family of Hyrule. The events of The Minish Cap then occur, followed by the events of Four Swords. During these two games, the origin of Vaati is explained, and he is left sealed within the Four Sword. Afterward, knowledge of the Triforce spreads, and the Hyrulean Civil War results as various tribes fight to acquire it. The war ends when the Royal Family of Hyrule unites the land. Shortly after the war’s end, the events of Ocarina of Time occur, during which three separate timelines branch out.

While this is pretty obvious given the nature of the game’s story – and the fact that Nintendo representatives have stated in the past that it occurs thousands of years beyond any other Zelda game – it’s nice to see that Nintendo has given the game its official place in the series chronology.
We now know where The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fits into the series.

This storyline is a little more straight-forward than the other two (which are intertwined), and it involves the defeat of Link at the hands of Ganondorf during the events of Ocarina of Time, who is then sealed away within the Dark World that he has created. This timeline also features the most games from the Zelda series on it. According to official sources, the “Hero is Defeated” timeline is covered by A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening, Oracle of Seasons & Ages, A Link Between Worlds, Tri Force Heroes, The Legend of Zelda, and finally, The Adventure of Link, in chronological order.
In the adult timeline, Link disappears after being sent back in time by Zelda at the end of Ocarina of Time which causes the third storyline that encompasses Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks. Here, Link’s legend fades into history as Ganon escapes his imprisonment, causing the people of Hyrule to ask the gods for help. They in turn flood Hyrule in order to keep Ganon at bay. During Wind Waker, Link and Zelda leave the flooded Hyrule, after defeating Ganondorf, in search of new land. After the events of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, a new Hyrule is settled, bringing the adult Link timeline to an end.
